We are confident that we will be able to make this conference a very special and memorable event. The scientific sessions of the conference will be dominated by scientific data from worthy speakers. This will be beneficial for post graduate trainees, district specialists and family physicians. Keeping in view this background, the conference will focus on new aspects and current updates, introduced recently in the field of diabetes and its related disorders.

This conference is a timely reminder of the inter-related nature of today's non-communicable diseases and of the complexity of diabetes itself. The conference is also an indication of the ongoing commitment of the fight against diabetes in the Arab nations and our efforts in Egypt and Arab countries on behalf of people with diabetes, their families and those who provide their care. Based on the above the organizing committee is preparing to receive about 3000 participants as this conference is already the biggest one not only in the Arab region but also in the whole Middle East area.

We wish that all the family physicians and specialists of the region will participate in this conference to update their knowledge, especially on prevention of diabetes and its complications like coronary artery disease which is one of the major killers of the human life.

Cairo is already the largest city in the Middle East and Africa and it has a lot to offer to visitors with extreme friendly atmosphere. We look forward to welcome you at this unique event.

The EDC (Center for Diabetes Education) in collaboration with the other societies are organizing the 16th Pan Arab Conference on Diabetes (PACD16), experts from different countries will exchange their experiences in the field of Diabetes and its related disorders. Recent advances in Population Studies, clinical and basic research will be presented. International scientists will give state of the art lectures. A number of sessions will be devoted to presentations of original contributions. Many satellite Symposia will be held during the conference.

Language:

The official Language of the conference is English. There will be no simultaneous translation.

The weather in Egypt at this time of the year is pleasant with splendid Spring . It should make the large number of social events , daily excursion and Post conference tours memorable ones. The average temperature in Cairo in March ranges between a low of 20 C and a high of 28 C. Sunshine is expected most of the days .

Transportation:

A special service of meet and assist , then transfer to your assigned Hotel can be arranged for all participants whom booked their rooms through the organizing company .

Hotel rooms sell out quickly specially at this time of the year. The organizing company had reserved rooms at Sonesta Hotel, Tower & Casino - Cairo as well as other more deluxe hotels at special congress rates. For reservation , please fill in the enclosed hotel accommodation form at your earliest convenience . Due to the peak season of tourism , during the Congress period , early room reservation is strongly recommended.

Confirmation:

Upon receiving the registration fees, each participant will receive a registration receipt. Please bring the receipt with you to the registration desks as a proof of your payment.

REGISTRATION CHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS :

• Name changes and substitutions are not permitted.
  
• All cancellation and refund requests must be made in writing and submitted via email to pure@onlinediabetes.net .
  
• For a full refund of the registration fee (less a $50 administrative fee), cancellation requests must be received by Sept 23, 2011.
  
• Cancellation requests received between Sept 24, 2011 and Feb 4, 2012 will receive a partial refund of 50% of the registration fee.
  
• Cancellation requests received after Feb 5, 2012 will not receive a refund of the registration fee.
  
• All attempts will be made to process refunds within 30 days of cancellation.

Several pharmaceutical, medical and laboratory instruments companies, will exhibit their new products concerning existing or prospective technology for diagnosis and management.
